When in Milan

Viime viikonloppuna matka kävi Milanoon, mun lempparikaupunkiin Italiassa. Reissu meni shoppaillessa (black friday...), leikkiessä turistia, syödessä hyvin ja runsaasti, ottaessa miljoona kuvaa ja Milanon yöelämässä. Viimeisin näistä oli kyllä pettymys. Menimme jonottamaan clubille, jonka piti olla todella hyvä, mutta olikin niin täynnä, ettei sisään mahduttu. Sitten se clubi, jonne lopulta menimme oli aivan kamala läävä.. Juhlat loppui ajoissa ja palasimme pitämään omat jatkot hotellihuoneeseen. Varmaan, jos olisimme päässeet ekaan paikkaan sisälle tai menneet jonnekin muaalle, kokemus olisi ollut erilainen. Mutta näinpä ei käynyt. Ei se silti saanut minua ajattelemaan Milanoa eri tavalla. Se on liian ihana siihen.

Last weekend our journey called life took us to Milan, to my favourite city in Italy. The trip was spent shopping (black friday...), sightseeing, eating well and a lot, taking a million pictures and partying. The last of the list was a disappointment however. The club we wanted to go was so full we couldn't even get in. Next the club we did get in was the biggest dump I have ever seen so the party was over pretty early for us. We left the club to have our own afterparty in the hotel room. Maybe if we could have gotten into the first place or gone somewhere different the experience could have been a lot better. But that wasn't meant to be. Still this experience was not bad enough to make me not like Milan. It is way too precious for that.

Alvar Aalto was a famous Finnish architect and apparently a very big name in Italy. I was happily surprised to find his name when walking the streets of Milan. I linked a Finnish article above about him which I'm sure google traslate will be happy to translate to you if you like.

Mentiin käymään oikein Michelin-tähdin varustetussa ravintolassa. Ruoka oli todella hyvää, mutta annokset olisivat voineet olla isompia. Taitaa olla yleinen ongelma kun on tarpeeksi tähtiä // We went to this place to eat which is even in the Michelin Guide. Food was so good but there could have been more of it... which I think is a common problem when there are enough stars on the door

Milanossa oli myös suomalaisen koulun joulumyyjäiset ja bongasin sieltä maailman parasta suklaata. Oli ikävä // In Milan there was a christmas sales for a Finnish school and I found there the world's best chocolate. I have been missing it so much

Oli pakko kokeilla... Ei huono todellakaan // Had to try this... Not bad at all I must say
